I left school at 15 and went to work at Master Baker Don Wright, craft bakery at Fleet Hampshire, doing a three year apprenticeship and attending Reading Bakery College.

Winning the top student award, The Renshaw cup and first prize for the students Hovis bread.

Then on to Kingston upon Thames College of art, taking cake design and decorating, a three year course under John Stock.

I stayed at Don Wrights for 18 years and became head baker and confectioner.

Moving on to Master Baker Tom Cornwall (Mr Crusty) bakery in Farnham Surrey as head Confectioner.

After three years I decided to open my own bakery in Weymouth Dorset.

We have been here for 30 years now and won prizes for our Novelty birthday cakes
